Only a few years ago, unmanned vehicles aka drones looked like a far fetched dreams for normal people. These unmanned vehicles were only used for military purposes but things have changed and today drones are being used for several recreational purposes, and most of them now have high-quality cameras installed with them which helps people all around the globe to capture those amazing moments that were really difficult to capture back in the past. With the help of a drone, people are using it in the most unique way that helps them in taking that one perfect shot which was hard to get. Keeping that in mind we have a list of most bizarre and surprising scenes which we don’t get to see in our day to day lives. Let’s see what all people have captured with the help of drones that surprised everybody when they came out.

A Great White

drone images

When Mark Romanov and Forrest Galante was working on his documentary he took some shots through drones just off the coast of Southern California. The documentary was about the relationship between human and sharks. You can see two women Jessica and Kelly high-fiving each other on their paddleboards but what is that black thing? It was the great white which was swimming just below them and nobody would have noticed that there were five great white sharks if they wouldn’t have used the drone. “It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be so close to great whites in their natural habitat. At times, the sharks got so close to my paddleboard that I could see their color, fins, and gills in detail. I was so in the moment that I didn’t realize how much adrenaline I had until I was out of the water,” said Kelly. Did you know Gulliver was real?

Gulliver, The Gentle Giant

drone images

This image was taken by a drone from bird’s-eye view above in the field located in Edinburgh, Scotland. This statue which is also known as Gulliver the Gentle Giant was created by a convicted murderer and former gangster Jimmy Boyle back when he was serving the punishment in the Barlinnie Prison in Glasgow. In 1976, the statue was revealed to the general public and it became children’s favorite local playground. With time the statue was damaged and eventually was removed from the location in 2011. The local government then decided to convert the place to a prevention system. Prior to that, luckily, the place was scanned from above and the captured image is in front of you.

Happy Golden Week!

drone images

There are almost 1.4 billion people in China which makes it the most populated country in the world. Not only this place is crowded with people but also holds a record to experience some of the world’s worst traffic jams ever seen. This drone image is proof that China is the most populated city in the world. If you think this image is a shot from some parking lot in China then my friend you are very wrong. This image is from the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway which is a 50-lane road. This week-long jam happened during the Chinese national holiday called “Golden Week.” The worst traffic jam ever recorded lasted for 12 days where some motorists were only able to move a mile a day.

The Silverdome

drone images

After seeing this image one can easily say that this might be an actual scene after some natural disaster, right? Wrong. This image is of a stadium known as the Silverdome which was once home to the Detroit Lions football team who left the stadium for their new home Ford Field in 2002. The Silverdome has hosted several world-class events including the Super Bowl, an event specifically for the pope, the NBA finals, an Elvis concert, and numerous other amazing events during its heyday. In 2009, one company purchased the stadium and planned to turn this stadium into a soccer stadium but nothing happened and it was left abandoned and it looks damn scary. This drone image of this legend stadium is worth thousands of words. What do you think?

Six Flags New Orleans

drone images

The Six Flags theme park located in New Orleans East was left abandoned after the Hurricane Katrina struck in August of 2005. One of the photographers took this shot with the help of a drone and even after two weeks this theme park showed the signs of disaster that was caused by Hurricane Katrina. A number of different plans were proposed for the site but nothing has been done to reconstruct the park. Today, this theme park has become a new ghost-town for the youngsters and the New Orleans Police Department has to patrol the park 24-hours a day to make sure that no thrill seekers enter the park.

Mont Saint-Michel

drone images

This image was a part of the ‘Dronestagram’ travel photography contest. Mont Saint-Michel is one of France’s most sought places and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you can notice there is a fort between the island which was built in 8thh century AD. Back in the past, the island helped the fort in many ways. Like during low tide, the fort was accessible to numbers of pilgrims who visited the place and at the time of high tide, it saved the castle from the invaders. Because of its strategic location, Mont Saint-Michel remained untouched during the Hundred Years’ War even though the English tried their best to take over the commune.
